Why I chose the SRES® Designation

As I approached my 50th birthday, I felt  a growing desire to learn more about pre-retirement strategies. I couldn’t seem to shake those ‘Freedom 55‘ jingles from my mind, as I wondered where my investment portfolio was, and why did the urge to retire in five years no longer appeal.

In fact the very thought produced anxiety symptoms along with a feeling of dread and uselessness. Suddenly I realized ‘I am not ready to retire in five years! I am ready to embark on the third book of the Trilogy of My Life.’

And with this realization, came the understanding that others must feel exactly like me. Knowledgeable, passionate, energized – yet skeptical of the retirement promises – and ready to seize the opportunity to open the door to a new horizon of opportunity and adventure.  I started reading, studying, and eventually I earned my SRES^® designation, relocated to Kelowna, British Columbia and began scripting the next chapter.
