HOMES FROM THE HEART

REALTY EXECUTIVES First Choice has embarked on an exciting program designed to help eliminate poverty housing in the Winnipeg area. Under the umbrella of REALTY EXECUTIVES Homes from the Heart we’re partnering with Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg  (HFHW) to become actively involved in their community-based efforts. 

Check out our Build Day! On August 11, 2009, Realty Executives First Choice sponsored a Build Day, at the Sir Sam Steele 34 unit sustainable housing development providing financial support for the day as well as hands on building expertise.

What is the Homes from the Heart program?

REALTY EXECUTIVES First Choice Homes from the Heart program is an effort created to involve our agents and brokers in raising funds.  These funds will be used to support  Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg to provide housing opportunities for needy families.

Why are we doing this?

We feel that as successful real estate professionals we are indeed very fortunate.  We are able to earn comfortable livings by assisting homebuyers and home sellers with their transactions.  Many individuals in our communities are less fortunate.  Many are living in crowded, sub-standard housing.  It is important that we give something back to the communities.

How will these funds be collected?

The brokers and agents at the REALTY EXECUTIVES First Choice office have pledged to donate a portion of their earned income from every Homes From the Heart real estate transaction be contributed to Habitat For Humany Winnipeg.

REALTY EXECUTIVES First Choice will also be inviting industry partners, home sellers and home buyers to make a pledge as well.  The Homes from the Heart program is designed to allow all parties in a real estate transaction to contribute a nominal amount to the effort.

Where will this money go?

We have designed our program so that every donation made will remain in the Winnipeg community where we live and work.  All money will go directly toward building homes for those in need.  No funds will be used for administrative costs.  Those costs are being underwritten by REALTY EXECUTIVES First Choice.

Background information on the Realty Executives Homes from the Heart program.

In 1998 Realty Executives International introduced the Homes from the Heart program designed to help eliminate poverty housing in the communities the company serves. The Homes from the Heart program is designed to allow agents to voluntarily designate an amount of money from their commissions to be earmarked for the program. All donations remain in the greater community in which an agent works or lives, and all money goes directly for building homes for those in need. Since the program’s inception, the company has paid for the construction of approximately 30 homes in the United States and contributed to a multiple of others internationally.
